India Reid Sims, MD
Dionne Harrison, MD

India studied at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and did her residency in Internal medicine. She continued her education with a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Duke. 

India's favorite part of mental health care and why she chooses it in her own words are "I especially enjoy addiction medicine as it affords me the opportunity to manage clients with various comorbid psychiatric illnesses enabling them to reclaim and live their best life. The life that they and their families deserve. 

In her spare time she loves dabbling in essential oils, reading about their benefits and putting them to the test. 



Carissa Kicinski, MPAS, PA-C

Dr. Dionne Harrison is a board certified psychiatrist who received her MD from SUNY at Buffalo School of Biomedical Science and completed her psychiatric residency at Duke University where she was afforded a wealth of experiences. She works with Severe and Persistently Mentally Ill population in her outpatient work and previously with ACTT. She gained insight into the unique needs of college students in her during her training at the Counseling and Psychological Services for students at Duke University. Her substance treatment background includes training experiences at Mayo Clinic, TROSA and Fellowship Hall of Greensboro NC as well as working with an SAIOP for individuals with HIV, substance use and mood disorders. She also had additional studies and clinical experience in marriage and family therapy, child trauma and neglect during her Duke training and has worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings including those in residential treatment.


What intrigues her about mental health is the uniqueness of each person and our capacity to overcome great obstacles in life.


In her spare time she enjoys collecting jewelry, music and exploring natural wonders of God’s creation.



Kim Smith, FNP

Carissa studied at Gannon University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences and a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.


Her favorite part about working in mental health is getting the opportunity to connect with people, heart their stories and provide care for them as they work through every day struggles.


In her spare time she enjoys hiking, cooking and discovering new music. 



Kim graduated from Winston Salem State University with a Masters in nursing science. 


She came to the Carter Clinic in 2011 under the supervision of Dr. Harrison who has taught her about psychiatry and proper client care. By learning more she's able to take care of clients while providing the best mental health care. 

Her favorite part of mental heath is the healthcare structure and how her clients are like friends and family. 


As a mother of nine, and a grandmother of 10, she still finds time to sew, read novels and take dance lessons. 



Nicole Blue MSN, FNP 

Nicole graduated from South University with a Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. 


Her career started as a psychiatric nurse manager, which helped her realize that psychiatric nursing was the field for her. She's also had the opportunity to work as an Adult Health Psychiatric Nurse Liaison, Psychiatric Case Manager, ACT services and Team Lead Mobile Crisis. 


In her spare time she likes to inspire others to be great, motivate others to change and encourage others to believe in themselves.
