Meet our Team Members (By Location)
Shalom Cherian MSN, ARPN, FNP-BC
Nicole Donnelly, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Shalom studied at UNC Chapel Hill for undergrad and continued on to East Carolina University for her Masters.
Her favorite part about working in mental health is best summed up by the following: "C.S. Lewis one of my favorite authors said “Mental pain is less dramatic than physical pain, but it is more common and also more hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden: it is easier to say “My tooth is aching” than to say “My heart is broken.” The ability to impact and help make meaningful change for patients who deal with the hardest challenges is humbling and rewarding.
In her spare time you can find her enjoying traveling, and exploring new places locally and abroad with my family, catching up on the Great British baking Show on Netflix, attempting to bake on the weekends (the key word being “attempting”), and cheering on the Tarheels during Basketball season!
Nicole studied at the University of Miami for undergrad, and went on to Barry University to earn her Master's in Nursing.
Her favorite part about working in mental health is getting the opportunity to connect with people, hear their stories and provide care for them as they work through every day struggles.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, including her cats and dog, and watching Netflix (these activities are often happening simultaneously).
Kiana Fussner, PA-C
Russell Gerry, MD
Kiana received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went on to work with UNC Health Hospital systems in their inpatient psychiatric department, and has experience in both the outpatient and inpatient mental health fields.
Her favorite part about working in mental health is the opportunity to explore the deeper parts of the brain and she finds joy in helping to heal those who feel broken.
Kiana is new to the Wilmington area and so spends most of her time exploring, on her off days she enjoys running and/or paddle boarding at the beach, playing with her two cats, and starting (never finishing) home improvement projects.
Dr. Gerry completed his bachelor of arts degree in 1980 from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, and his doctorate in medicine in 1985 from the University of Connecticut, Farmington, CT. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at University Hospital, Boston University, Boston, MA.
He has been providing medical care in private practice since 1988, and specializes in general internal medicine and adolescent medicine, emphasizing comprehensive primary care, as well as focusing on wellness, prevention and health maintenance.
Along with his wife (also a Dr.) he is exceptionally pleased to have their home in Wilmington.
